Two Ridings Community Foundation

Named Trust Funds

A named fund can be set up in your own name, the name of a family member, or company, enabling you to support the causes you care about most.

They are easy to set up and flexible to manage. We handle all the administration of the fund and the grants you make, and you can have as little or as much involvement as you choose.

How does it work?

Step 1: Choose what sort of causes you would like to support.

  • Field of interest fund – This type enables you to choose a theme or broad area of need to support.
    • E.g. projects focussing on homelessness or the environment.
  • Geographical area – This fund allows you to focus your giving on a particular area or community in East and North Yorkshire.
  • Donor advised – This gives you the opportunity to select particular charities that you wish to support.

Step 2: Decide what level of involvement you would prefer.

  • Would you like to leave the detail to us and just receive an annual update?
  • Would you prefer to actively involved, receive regular updates and visit projects that have benefited from your fund?
  • The level of involvement can be tailor made to suit you.

Step 3: Select how you would like your fund to be set up.

  • An endowment fund  - This invests your money for the long-term benefit of your chosen causes. The income and capital growth generated from the investment of the endowment is available annually to award as grants.
  • A revenue or 'flow through' fund – Here you or your company donates a specific sum of money to be awarded as grants over the course of a year, providing a more immediate benefit to your chosen cause.
