Knabs Ridge Wind Farm |
This fund is now fully allocated for 2011 and is not currently accepting new applications. It will re-open in April 2012
In 2008, eight towering sources of renewable energy became operational at Knabs Ridge near Harrogate. These wind turbines not only supply green electricity to thousands of homes but have also brought significant benefits to the communities closest to the site via the Knabs Ridge Wind Farm Community Fund. This is an annual fund that will be available as long as the wind farm continues to operate and is designed to support and enrich local communities. In 2011 the Knabs Ridge Fund supported green improvements, refurbishments and renovations, new equipment for playgroups, drama clubs, sports facilities and the Hamsthwaite Post Office. Significantly this fund has helped counter the 'digital divide' by financing public internet and computer access to Darley Memorial Hall. Apply Now
